Plans to get a brand new butterfly/pollinator backyard are penalized in Barnegat Light from the Garden Club of Long Beach Island. Located in the corner of Sixth Street and Bayview Avenue in the pavilion website, the garden will contain an arbor of trumpet blossoms, a garden seat, and gravel pathways throughout. Construction is anticipated to start during the spring.

Planned as a learning distance by the backyard where visitors can observe firsthand how to integrate the proper plants and spacing to get their pollinator gardens, this website will incorporate a crape myrtle, a dogwood, mock orange, Rose of Sharon, hydrangeas, knockout roses and loosestrife.

“To complete it, garden club members will contribute perennial cuttings from their own gardens,” stated Gillian Rozicer, club promotion chair.

She stated the Barnegat Light Taxpayers’ Association and local taxpayers have contributed into the backyard. Members of this garden club also have donated .

Diane Barbieri, president of the bar, stated, “We are all so excited to add yet another garden to the portfolio of the Garden Club of Long Beach Island. Our members are inspired to integrate the beauty of flowering plants, pollinators and, of course, create yet another stopping point for monarch butterflies. The planning, planting and total design elements is the creation of members of our club, and hopefully in the spring LBI residents and visitors will stop by and enjoy this beautiful new garden.”

In addition to this garden, club members also keep the backyard by the Beach Haven Public Library in addition to the Edith Duff Gwinn Gardens along with the butterfly garden, equally at Barnegat Light.
